UP Metro to organise symposium on the eve of World TB Day health specialists to address public at Hussainganj Metro Station Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation will organise a symposium on the eve of World TB (Tuberculosis) day, i.e 23rd March 2021, 4:00 PM onwards at Hussainganj Metro Station in order to raise awareness on Tuberculosis disease.
Various eminent health experts will be in attendance at the symposium and raise awareness among the general public regarding the causes, symptoms, preventive and curative measures for the disease. Dr. Suryakant Tripathi, Head, Respiratory Department, KGMU will be the Chief Guest for the event.
Managing Director, UPMRC Shri Kumar Keshav will be present at the symposium along with other senior officials of Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation.
TB eradication drive is being carried out at a massive scale in our country, yet some people remain unaware of the important aspects of this disease. This symposium will raise awareness and generate sensitivity in the people and metro commuters regarding the seriousness of Tuberculosis.
The symposium will be organised at Hussainganj Metro Station tomorrow, i.e. 23rd March 2021 from 4:00 P.M. onwards and will also see Dr. A.K. Chaudhary, TB specialist, TB Hospital Rajendra Nagar; Ms. Nirupama Singh, Senior Dietician, SGPGI and Mr. Vishal Singh from Vijay Shree Foundation in attendance.
According to the statistics released by World Health Organisation; there are around 1 crore TB patients in the world and out of those, every 4th patient is from India. Around 14 lakh people battle with Tuberculosis and lose their life every year. Once incurable, TB can now be completely cured with the help of right medical guidance and healthy diet. By adopting the DOTS method of treatment, a TB patient can fully recover within 6 to 8 months and lead a healthy life.
